About me
Peter O'Keefe is a writer and filmmaker, born and raised in Detroit, now living in Racine, Wisconsin. His first novel Counted With the Dead—a reimagining of Frankenstein set in late-90s Detroit—was released by Grendel Press in 2024. Peter's second novel White Flight was released by Uncomfortably Dark Horror in November 2025.
Peter's narrative short films have screened at a variety of film festivals and his documentary about visual artists in the American Midwest “Dreaming In Public, Making Art In the Real World” was awarded a Chicago Regional Emmy. His short stories have appeared in various literary and online journals and anthologies. In a previous life, Peter wrote for George Romero's Tales From the Darkside, worked as a Hollywood screenwriter, optioned numerous original screenplays, and scripted TV movies for German networks.
