About me
Carina Stopenski (they/them) is a writer, scholar, and librarian born and bred in Pittsburgh, PA. They are an academic member of the HWA and currently serve on the Library Advisory Council and as co-chair of the Pittsburgh chapter. Carina is pursuing a PhD in Literature and Criticism at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where their research focuses on horror, abjection, and the grotesque in low media narratives. They are the author of the Appalachian folk horror novel STUFFED (Unveiling Nightmares, OOP) and the transgressive short story collection THE THINGS WE DO FOR BLOOD (Alien Buddha Press). When they aren't doing horror things, you can find Carina working with the Pittsburgh Indie Expo and zine community, doing way too many crafts, and wandering Pittsburgh's North Side in search of new adventures.
