About me
Barbara Barnett is the author of The Apothecary's Curse and Alchemy of Glass, both published by Pyr Books. The Apothecary's Curse was nominated for the Bram Stoker Award (2017). She is also the author of Chasing Zebras: The Unofficial Guide to House M.D., published in five languages. As Executive Editor of Blogcritics Magazine, she has written extensively about television, film, music, politics, and pop culture. Her newest book, The Renaissance Faire Companion is a cultural nonfiction book forthcoming from Rizzoli in Spring 2027. Her essay "The Merry Macabre of Renaissance Faires" was featured in Nightmare Magazine's H-Word column (Jan. 2026)
