About me
Gillian King-Cargile has worked with schools, libraries, universities, and national science labs to create exciting stories, games, events, films, and even stand-up comedy that spark a love of reading and learning. A member of the Horror Writers Association, the National Association of Science Writers, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Gillian publishes work for readers of all ages. Her stories have appeared in McSweeney’s Internet Tendencies, PseudoPod, Carve Magazine, Everyday Fiction, River Styx, 3 Elements, and more. Her short story, “Chainsaw: As Is,” published by PseudoPod, was listed on the 2023 Bram Stoker Awards® Preliminary Ballot for Superior Achievement in Short Fiction.
Gillian loves geeking out about the connections between science and storytelling. She works regularly with researchers to help make complex topics--from AI to urban climate change to the science of pandemics--interesting and accessible.
