D.R. Forge needed a pen name on the fly to submit her first entry to a zine, which, against the odds, was published, along with her hastily cobbled together bio. Thusly spawned her nom de plume. She did not think this through. So many years later, regularly struggles at introductions.

But here it goes.

D.R. Forge is an author of speculative dark fiction and horror, weaving tales that will have you shivering, crying, laughing, and shivering some more. She got her start in the early days of internet horror, and has slowly segued into the traditional publishing space, although her nontraditional roots are permanently adhered to her spine.

In addition to being featured in a number of anthologies and zines, in 2025, Forge placed first in the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge, and in 2026, won the inaugural year of the NYC Midnight Scary Story Challenge.
